The Rainbow

The RAINBOW

Genesis 9: 12 – 13

After every rain when you look up into the sky you will see a rainbow.  A rainbow is a beautiful thing. But why is there a rainbow every-time after it rains?  In the Bible in the Old Testament we find the answer.  God created man and woman and wanted them to love Him and worship Him. But man decided that they didn’t want to listen to God or do what He told them to do. They wanted to live the way they wanted to. This really hurt God as man did everything that God had told them not to do. They paid no attention to God or His love for them.  As God looked down upon man He was really hurt and was sorry He had ever made man. So he thought I am going to wash the whole earth.  Washing the earth is the same as if your clothes are very dirty; you need to wash them, so God decided to wash the whole earth clean. But God saw that there was one man with his wife and three sons and their wives. They listened to God and did what He told them to do and they loved God. God thought, I cannot kill them when I wash the rest of the world. So God came and told the man, (his name was Noah), to build a big boat and God told him how to build it, what wood to use and how to fix it up. Then God said, I will send two of every animal to the boat and you will take them in and keep them safe with you when I wash the whole earth. The God waited while Noah and his sons built this boat. And God waited. Finally the boat was ready and God sent the animals and Noah and his sons put the animals into the boat and then God closed the door. Then the rain came and the whole earth was filled with water higher than all the mountains. Everything that was not in the boat died. But God remembered the boat and He had a big wind come and dry up the earth. Finally after a long time the boat landed safely and God said that Noah and his family and all the animals that they could come out of the boat. Noah and his family gave thanks to God for keeping His promise to them and keeping them and all the animals safe. God promised that He would never again fill the whole earth with water at one time. And to remind us and to remind God of the promise He made to us He put a rainbow into the clouds to remind us and God of the promise

A Rainbow Craft.
